Dr. Yohama Lorenzo
Miami dentist, Dr. Yohama Lorenzo, was born in Cuba and emigrated to the United States in 1962. She lived for a few years in Puerto Rico and established her practice in Miami in 1979.

She has a son, Dr. Federico Grande, a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a dual degree in Medicine, who lives in Stuart, Florida. Dr. Grande is the father of her three beloved grandsons, Alex, Nicky and Joey. Dr. Lorenzo has an extended family of three stepchildren, one step-granddaughter and two adopted sons. Her huge family is always found enjoying her cooking around the family dining table, where laughter and conversation are always present.

Dr. Lorenzo is an avid traveler, loves boating, painting, photography and creative writing. However, her true passion is her profession, where she transforms lives by restoring her patients’ smiles! Her artistic eye is an important part of her excellent cosmetic dentistry, and is also seen in her travel-photo collection that is displayed in her computer monitors throughout her office.

Through her 36 years as a dentist, she has inspired many of her patients into joining her profession, and frequently you will find an observing intern who is experiencing the enthusiasm that Dr. Lorenzo feels while working on her beloved patients and surrounded by her treasured staff.

Dr. Lorenzo is constantly attending Continuing Education courses in all the newest development within the dental field, allowing her to practice the State-of-the-Art dentistry that she loves so much. 

Dr Frederico Grande

Dr. Grande, who is Dr. Lorenzo’s son, went to the University of Miami for his bachelor degree (1994), graduated Dental School from Northwestern University in Chicago (1998), and returned to the University of Miami to complete his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. While in oral surgery residency, he opted to expand his education and earned a medical degree, making him one of the few dual-degree (doctorate in Dentistry and Medicine) oral surgeons in Miami.

Upon finishing his studies, he established residence in Stuart, Florida, where he currently lives with his three sons and has a thriving Oral Surgery practice. He accepted  the part-time position of Oral Surgeon in Dr. Lorenzo’s dental practice, where mother-and-son team enjoy restoring their patients to health and beauty, while challenging each other to excel  in the most modern advances in the field of dentistry.  His training in the field of Anesthesiology allows him to provide the comfort of IV sedation to his surgical patients, and his expertise in Oral Surgery make him a constant consultant for all the staff.

He is a frequent lecturer for Biomet 3i, a world-renowned implant company. He somehow also finds time to participate in research activities related to the field of implant dentistry.

An avid sports enthusiast, Dr. Grande enjoys CrossFit, snow skiing, fishing, diving, tennis, golf, soccer, and he is a loyal Miami Hurricane football fan. His sense of humor, his communication skills and his charisma make him a favorite among patients and staff. 

Dr Carlos J Marques

Dr. Carlos J. Marques
Dr. Carlos J. Marques was born in Sagua la Grande, Cuba and left the island with his parents as a child to live in Venezuela. As a teenager the family moved again to settle in Miami, Florida.  After graduating from high school Dr. Marques attended Miami Dade Community College graduating with honors and then attended Florida International University were he obtained his Baccalaureate of Science Degree.

Dr. Marques graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry located in Washington D.C. in 2001. He then went on to complete a one year General Practice Residency at the Miami VA Medical Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital.

After several years in general private practice he accepted a position to join Dr. Lorenzo’s team in July 2006. Since then he has strived for the best treatment care possible and continues to further expand his training by attending continuing dental education seminars and conferences all over the country. His practice philosophy is to maintain a holistic approach to dental care and to provide access to most treatment modalities under the same clinical setting.

He is happily married to his wife Adriana and they have two wonderful daughters, Victoria and Veronica. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and action sports. 

Dr. Monica Gonzalez
Dr. Gonzalez, was born and raised in Miami, FL.  Dr. Gonzalez has been a patient of Dr. Lorenzo’s since she was a young girl. From a young age, she shared with us that she wanted to become a dentist. We watched her grow and chase her dream. While a student at G. Holmes Braddock Senior High she interned at our practice and confirmed her aspiration to become a Miami Dentist.

Dr. Gonzalez attended Miami Dade Honors College and the University of Miami in a scholarship program called UM Bridges Scholar Program. Upon completion of her AA she transferred to the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL where she earned her undergraduate and doctoral degree. Dr. Gonzalez continued with the University of Florida College of Dentistry to earn her Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate. Upon completion of her post-graduate residency training she moved back to Miami, FL and joined our practice.

Dr. Gonzalez enjoys dancing, yoga and running.  From, ballet instructor to salsa dance team member, name it; she’ll dance it.  She devotes her spare time to her 5 nieces and nephews and to her dog, Lucas.

Once you meet Dr. Gonzalez, you’ll immediately notice her eagerness and passion for the field of dentistry.  Dr. Gonzalez has an astounding high number of completed continuing education courses and brings a new light into our team. We are excited to see her grow within our practice.  She is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, South Florida Dental Association, Miami Dental Association, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Academy of General Dentistry.
